The Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK) is an organisational member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) within the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College (HIPC).
Individual membership with UKCP is optional for ADMP UK members. The ADMP route to UKCP-HIPC accreditation has been established to support members wishing to work in more clinical settings, such as the NHS, where membership of an organisation such as BACP, HCPC, or UKCP is usually highlighted as a requirement on job vacancies.
The following ADMP UK members can become a member of UKCP:
- Student Members can initially join as UKCP Student Members. This will need to be converted to Trainee Membership once clinical work begins as part of the university training course.
- Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapists can initially join as UKCP Trainee Members while working towards full registration. On completion, this will need to be converted to UKCP Full Clinical Membership.
Members interested in pursuing UKCP-HIPC registration must be qualified practitioners who have completed their MA training. This UKCP-HIPC route is for members who are currently practising as Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapists (RDMP) and working with adult clients (over the age of 18).
Full registration with UKCP under HIPC requires: top-up modules, proof of clinical hours completed, CPD log, a case-study, and recorded movement reflection. For more information on eligibility and how to apply for UKCP registration as an RDMP, please view our UKCP Handbook.
ADMP UK offers specific training modules to members pursuing UKCP accreditation under HIPC. The modules we regularly offer as part of this route are:

- Working with Refugees and Migrants
- Working with People who Self-Harm and have Suicidal Ideation
